Two Completion Pathways

The Advanced Weaver

Active Apprenticeship + Matriz Weavers Didactic Program

These learning pathways do not change your tuition. Choose either path at any point along your journey.

The Advanced Weaver Pathway is the open gate for you to become a Midwife. This Pathway is for students that are dedicating this season to apprenticeship and hands-on learning within your community in addition to our extensive didactic program (Ancient Art Midwifery curriculum)

This pathway prepares you to pass your desired licensing/certification exams. It is not required of your Supervising Midwife to guide your learning experience. The academic portion of your education will be guided by our MW Curriculum schedule.

A multitude of learning opportunities come with an apprenticeship, which naturally leads to Supervising Midwife and Student Midwife discussions, this is encouraged! However your SM does not have to hold the weight of your entire academic experience.

The Foundational Weaver

Matriz Weavers Didactic Program

These learning pathways do not change your tuition. Choose either path at any point along your journey.

The Foundational Weaver Pathway is your first step towards becoming a Midwife. This Pathway is for students that are dedicating this season to our extensive didactic program (Ancient Art Midwifery curriculum).

This pathway is not in addition to real-world experiences or hands-on practice.

Many Practicing Midwives will reinforce their current knowledge with this comprehensive program.

Graduation Requirements

  • Must attend all live Weaver Calls or provide a document of your notes and summary of the call

  • Participate in supportive workshops local to you (e.g. NRP, Foundational Concepts for Midwives Intensives, Shoulder Dystocia, or Breech/Twins workshops - all workshop fees are additional)

  • Complete our competency skills checklist

  • Complete and submit every required assignment

The Foundational Pathway is an academic program and does not give someone the role or title of midwife. We do not endorse practicing as a midwife without an extensive apprenticeship. Midwifery is an art of several mediums - knowledge, skill, and experience.

Matriz Weavers is a licensed (#260216) Study Group Partner with Ancient Art Midwifery and is a ministry offering from Birth Cultivated Ministries a 501(c)(8) private fraternal association. All activities are spiritual, educational, fraternal, and fellowship-based for members only. We do not offer licensed medical care, diagnosis, or treatment.
